The Nike KD 9 officially launched this week, with the “Preheat” edition hitting stores in limited quantities on Monday, before new colorways become more readily available in early-July. So how would Kevin Durant describe his new shoe?

Well, “perfect” springs immediately to mind, it seems. In a new video from Nike Basketball, KD sits down with Leo Chang, designer of the KD 9 and most of Kevin’s previous kicks, to talk about the design process and what he needs in a shoe. This could be a special silhouette.
